Happy 2018! I hope the new year brings you much happiness. I have a super quick post to share a simple card with you.
The new year is a time of celebration for pretty much everyone, and although this card was made to mark an anniversary it feels appropriate for the beginning of this new year as well.
I used that awesome Sweet Pea stamp set from Emma and heat embossed the words. A couple of enamel heart stickers and a die cut heart and you’re done.
The embossing was a bit sloppy as it was prior to my discovery of VersaMark ink. That stuff is wonderful for heat embossing. Highly recommended.
I find I am loving repetition and am an advocate for the rule of threes. It’s definitely something I want to incorporate more of in to my cards. It can give a sophisticated clean and simple look so easily.
So, new year. Any resolutions or goals? Craft related ones for me are open an Etsy shop (which I did this evening) and blog more. Please share yours!
Heat embossing is always tricky, isn’t it? But the card came out great, I really like the shine of the embossing and the repetition of the sentiment – it’s nice and simple and would look great using a variety of larger sentiments, for a lot of different occasion! Also, glad you’re getting good use of the stamp set! 🙂
